ABOUT THE ARTIST 

AND HER WORK

 

     
     
    This Artist's technique is a successful  blend of the Old Masters  and the Contemporary.
     
    Her art was influenced by living among many different cultures from childhood on.
    She has an eye for the beauty of many cultures.
Basic knowledge in Oil Painting was  passed on to her 
during High School years by its principal Dr. Spannring, in Austria, Europe.
Tribute goes also  to venerable Dr. Warren Stratton, professor emeritus 
of Evangel University, Springfield, Mo. (now deceased) who
 revealed to his students techniques of the Old Masters. 
 
The Artist's inspiration however comes
 from her 'Master Above',- Father God,- giving her insight into humor, sadness, sensitivity, beauty among cultures.   
 
  Many doors opened up to the professional art world for Hilda
as she felt God's peace guiding. 
First, as layout editor with the 'Gospel Publishing House', 
Springfield, Mo., then as an Artist with Hallmark Cards Inc., Kansas City, Mo.-  and
Layout Design and Graphic Artist with a major architectural & planning firm
  in Columbia, S.C.   
 
        While  teaching  at Tarrant County Community College in Bedford, Tx. 
t
he need for her personal studio arose as painting commitments mounted.
  
  In Georgia, full potential blossomed with numerous  commissions  
brought  to  her,-  her work selling well at Exhibits. 
 
 Hilda holds graduate degrees from  Central Bible College, Springfield, Mo.-,  
 Evangel University, and Masters of Arts from the University of Missouri. 
 
 She holds Teaching Certification in two fields, Art and Foreign Languages.  
 Post-grad work at the University of Georgia and  South Carolina, 
as in  German Literature  at  the  University of Kansas, Lawrence.
 
She taught all levels of the academe - in five  states  of  the U. S., 
and  in  conjunction  with  the  University of  Heidelberg in Europe.
Hilda works now out of her studio in Hewitt, Texas, 
finding painting the most gratifying activity of them all.
